Privacy Policy

FragDex is a fragrance collecting app operated by WrenchsUp Inc., 1249 Christie Cir, Milton, Ontario L9T 6V4, Canada ("we", "us"). This policy explains what FragDex collects, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address, and your name if you sign in with Apple or Google and choose to share it. If you use Sign in with Apple and hide your email, we receive only Apple's private relay address.

Profile and collection. Your collector handle, avatar and cosmetics, the fragrances you add, own, wear or wishlist, your XP, level, coins, quests, achievements and streaks.

Social activity. The collectors you follow and who follow you, friends and friend requests, likes, and the reviews, ratings and posts you write. Your handle, avatar, leaderboard standing, reviews and posts are visible to other collectors. Your collection, stats and achievements are visible to others only if your profile is public or they are your friend.

Scans. When you scan a bottle, the photo is processed on your device and stays on your device. To identify the bottle, we receive the text read from its label and a numeric "feature print" computed from the photo; the photo itself is never uploaded. We keep a record of each scan (the text, the candidates offered and the fragrance you chose) to improve recognition, and a confirmed match's feature print helps recognise that bottle for other collectors. None of this shows your face or surroundings, and none of it is shown to other users.

Location, only if you turn on "Share finds on the map". When sharing is on, we store the approximate area (a grid cell about 1 km wide) and date of a fragrance you scan, visible to your friends. Your precise location is used on your device to draw your own map and is never sent to us. Turning sharing off deletes everything you have shared.

Steps. With your permission, FragDex reads your step count from your iPhone's motion sensor and sends daily step totals to us to award XP.

Purchases. If you subscribe to FragDex Pro, Apple processes the payment. We receive the purchase status and expiry date from Apple through our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We never receive your card details.

Reports and blocks. If you report or block another collector or a post, we store the report or block.

How we use it

To run FragDex: to sign you in, save and sync your collection, identify bottles you scan, show leaderboards, friends and reviews, apply purchases, prevent cheating and abuse, and review reports. We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Who we share it with

Service providers that run FragDex on our behalf, under their own privacy policies:

• Supabase: database, sign-in and hosting.
• RevenueCat: subscription status.
• Apple and Google: sign-in, if you choose them, and App Store payments.
• Mapbox: map display. Mapbox receives technical information such as your IP address and map requests.
• Amazon Web Services: fragrance images.

Other collectors see only what is described above as visible to them. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account, which permanently deletes your account and the data linked to it from our live systems immediately. Any copies in routine backups are overwritten within 30 days. Anonymous scan records that no longer identify you may be kept to improve recognition. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel that in your Apple ID subscription settings.

Children

FragDex is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your data, or to object to how it is used. Email fragdex@wrenchsup.com to make a request, and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes

We will post changes on this page and update the date above. For significant changes, we will also let you know in the app.
